Choosing the Right Resilient Sounds Subwoofer Size
The largest subwoofer is not automatically the best choice. Measure the vehicle and determine how much usable space can realistically be dedicated to the enclosure before choosing a size.
Choose an 8-Inch Resilient Sounds Subwoofer When:

- The enclosure must fit behind or under a seat.

Choose the Correct Voice-Coil Configuration
The voice-coil option controls the wiring possibilities and final impedance presented to the amplifier. It does not change the advertised RMS power rating of the subwoofer.
The current Resilient Sounds lineup includes:
- Entry V2: Dual 4-ohm voice coils
- Gold V2: Dual 2-ohm or dual 4-ohm voice coils
- Platinum V2: Dual 1-ohm or dual 2-ohm voice coils
For one dual-voice-coil subwoofer:
- A dual 1-ohm model can normally be wired to a 0.5-ohm or 2-ohm final load.
- A dual 2-ohm model can normally be wired to a 1-ohm or 4-ohm final load.
- A dual 4-ohm model can normally be wired to a 2-ohm or 8-ohm final load.
Multiple subwoofers create additional final-load options. Decide how many subwoofers will be installed and what impedance the amplifier can safely support before choosing a voice-coil configuration.

Match the Amplifier to the Subwoofers
Choose the amplifier by comparing its rated RMS output at the completed final impedance with the combined RMS rating of the Resilient Sounds subwoofers.
Before selecting an amplifier, confirm:
- The RMS rating of each subwoofer
- The number of subwoofers being installed
- The voice-coil impedance of each subwoofer
- How the voice coils and subwoofers will be wired
- The completed final impedance
- The amplifier’s rated RMS output at that impedance
- The amplifier’s minimum stable load
- The required power wire, ground wire and fuse protection
- Whether the vehicle’s electrical system can support the amplifier

Use the Correct Resilient Sounds Subwoofer Box
The enclosure is a major part of the completed bass system. Two subwoofers with the same advertised diameter can require different internal volume, port area, tuning frequency, mounting depth and cutout dimensions.
Before building or purchasing a box, verify:
- The exact Resilient Sounds series and version
- The recommended net internal volume
- The recommended tuning range
- The required port area
- The subwoofer’s mounting depth
- The required cutout diameter
- Subwoofer, port and bracing displacement
- Cone and surround clearance

Plan the Wiring and Electrical System
The amplifier must receive stable power through properly sized wiring, secure grounds and correct fuse protection. Electrical demand rises quickly as customers move from Entry V2 to Gold V2 and Platinum V2 systems.

Larger systems may require:
- OFC power and ground wiring
- Multiple power and ground cable runs
- Upgraded fuse holders and distribution blocks

A wiring upgrade does not increase the alternator’s rated output. Match the charging system to the actual amplifier current demand and intended use of the vehicle.
Set Gain, Crossovers and Filters Correctly
Amplifier gain matches the amplifier’s input sensitivity to the signal source. It is not an additional volume or power control.
Excessive gain can create clipping, heat and damaged voice coils. The low-pass crossover and subsonic filter should also be set around the amplifier, enclosure design, tuning frequency and intended operating range.
