This alternator is hand-built, bench tested, and shipped after production is complete. Average build time is typically 2-4 weeks before shipment. Because each alternator is built to order for your vehicle and application, it does not ship immediately after purchase.

The 250 amp through 320 amp Small Case units idle around 170-180 amps at engine running temperature. The 350 amp Small Case requires 800+ engine idle RPM and at least a 7" crank pulley, and with that setup you will see 180+ amps at idle.
If you need more durability and stronger idle output, the custom Large Case hairpin options step things up even further. These units are available from 250 amp up to 400 amp and offer 200+ amps at idle, making them a strong fit for harder-use builds and heavier electrical demand. For customers who want the strongest idle performance in this lineup, the newest XL case options are the top choice. The 300XL, 425XL, and 475XL models offer around 240-250 amps at idle depending on idle RPM, making them the best options here for high-demand systems that need serious charging support at lower engine speeds.

Important Installation Notice

Failing to upgrade the charging and ground wiring can create excessive heat, voltage drop, and alternator damage, including rectifier failure. Damage caused by improper wiring or failure to complete the Big 3 upgrade is not covered.

Warranty Information
