This alternator is available in 180 amp, 240 amp, 270 amp, 325 amp, and 400 amp plug and play options in both 3 pin and 2 pin square plug variants, along with 430 amp and 540 amp externally regulated options. The 180-270 amp versions are rated at 160+ amps at idle rpm, the 300+ amp plug and play versions are rated at 200+ amps at idle rpm, and the 430+ amp externally regulated versions are rated at 230+ amps at idle rpm.

All units use the output stud at the rear of the alternator instead of the side. Fitment remains the same as stock, but some vehicles that originally had the stud out the side may require a Big 3 upgrade and factory power wire replacement from the fuse box. The rear stud setup allows a longer stud to be used so you can fit more wire, which is normal for this alternator design.

You can also add a voltage knob for adjustable voltage on the plug and play units. For shoppers wanting the easiest install, the bolt-on, plug-in versions are the most straightforward choice. The 430 amp and 540 amp options are externally regulated only, require a separate external regulator to control voltage output, and are not recommended for novice installers.

Important Installation Notice
A Big 3 upgrade is required when installing a high output alternator. Factory wiring is not designed to support the increased current demand of a high amp alternator or heavy duty alternator upgrade. Failing to upgrade the charging and ground wiring can create excessive heat, voltage drop, and alternator damage, including rectifier failure. Damage caused by improper wiring or failure to complete the Big 3 upgrade is not covered.
