BMX: Where Output Meets Endurance.
After years of development, trial and error, and decades immersed in the car audio industry, the BMX Series from Sky High Car Audio has finally arrived—representing the culmination of everything we’ve learned from competing, building, and manufacturing elite-level subwoofers. With deep roots in the basshead community and ownership in some of the most respected brands in the game, we’ve poured all our knowledge into the design and execution of what we believe is a true game-changer. The all-new BMX Series isn’t just a subwoofer—it’s the next evolution in high-performance bass.
At its core, the BMX Series is a high-excursion, true-to-size subwoofer featuring a 3” 8 layer voice coil, rated for 2500W RMS of clean musical power, with the motor and coil combination capable of enduring thermal bursts up to 25,000 watts. This beast utilizes a triple-stacked Y35 ferrite motor structure with aluminum shorting ring, pole vents and (4) drilled and tapped backplate holes, giving builders flexibility for reinforced mounting or enhanced cooling. A tooled SHCA magnet boot completes the structure—adding both functional protection and a sleek aesthetic.
Mechanically, the 12”, 15”, and 18” BMX subwoofers push performance with an impressive 32mm Xmax and 39mm Xmech, delivering massive excursion while maintaining control. The 10” stacked spider pack, spaced for increased durability, keeps everything tight and responsive under heavy load. A fiberglass-reinforced cone support lies beneath a hardened paper cone—engineered with a tooled recess for the standard carbon fiber dust cap, maximizing cone integrity and minimizing flex during peak output. To round out the features we utilize a secondary pressure cap nestled under the primary cap which works as a pressure buffer and structural reinforcement to the primary cap.
Connection is no afterthought—4-gauge push terminals ensure serious current delivery, while the foam surround is precision-molded for optimal compliance. Finished in an all-black stealth aesthetic, the BMX Series not only performs like a champion—it looks the part too.
With a low FS and high BL, the BMX Series is designed to play across the entire bass frequency range with authority and musicality. It’s not a one-note wonder—it’s a daily demo monster and a competition weapon rolled into one.
Customization Options: Sky High Car Audio is proud to offer in-house custom build options for select subwoofer lines, hand-assembled at our Sparks, NV facility. Customization is available exclusively on the BMX Series 10–18”, FMX Series 12–18”, and FXXL Series 12–18” models. We offer custom Prismatic Powders powder coating in single-stage or two-stage finishes to match your build’s aesthetic (additional cost and lead time apply). For those looking to stand out in the lanes or the show floor, forged carbon fiber cone upgrades are available on FMX and FXXL subs for a premium finish and added cone rigidity. Builders can choose between direct leads (with length and color options) or push terminals on FMX and FXXL models, which come standard with direct leads. We also offer box support add-ons for our threaded backplates and optional back plate cooling modifications for all eligible series (back plate cooling to drop 1/1/26). Lastly we can build you a custom spider pack to meet your needs, but for daily music we highly suggest the stock build form for suspension.
